Two Months

Happy two months of life Jenny Grace! 

This month has been SO much better on my part.

We are all sleeping better and our home is a little happier now that I feel like I somewhat have my life put together.

(lol yeah right)

I am so grateful that life is full of do-overs and second chances.

Anyhow, I can't believe I have a two month old!

My pregnancy seemed to go by so slow and I always wished time would speed up so I could meet my baby.

But now that she's here I really wish time would slow down.

Or maybe just have a pause button.

We still have our days.

Newborns are hard because there is no way to tell what they're thinking or what their needs are.

Thankfully I have a pretty easy baby and as long as she's fed, changed, and loved, she is usually happy.

She recently started sleeping through the night.

Like i'm talking 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. every single night.

From a mama who loves her sleep, it's been great.

Since she doesn't wake up at night to eat anymore, she eats a ton during the day.

She'll take anywhere from 2-4 ounces every 1-3 hours.

She's so random.

Silly girl.

She started smiling SO much this month and every time she flashes me that gummy grin my heart breaks.

I love her so much it hurts!

That smile makes all of the hard times absolutely worth it.

She also found her voice and loves to hear herself talk.

She will coo and smile the cheesiest grin because she knows she's cute.

She got her 2 month shots this month and I cried more than she did.

She was such a little trooper.

Thank goodness for infant tylenol.

She is 22 inches long and weighs 12.10 pounds.

15th percentile for height, 75th for weight.

She's short and fat.

My little oompa loompa. 

We are so grateful to have Jenny in our lives.

She has brought so much joy and love into our family.

We seriously can't imagine life without her!

Welcome Spring!!!

I love springtime.

It's my favorite season!

And since spring officially begins in just a few short weeks, I thought now would be a good time to make some things and decorate accordingly.

DIY Hot Air Balloon Lamps

It amazes me how creative some people are.

When I first saw these on pinterest I knew I had to make them.

They were just too cute to pass up!

Also, they were so easy to put together.

I just think they add a darling touch to baby girl's nursery and they look so cute turned on at night!

Materials:

-Ikea vate rice paper lamp

-Scrapbook paper, fabric, or washi tape

-Tin can

-Twine or string

-Hot glue gun 

-Scissors

-Small screwdriver, or something sharp enough to punch holes in your can

-Ribbon, buttons, ect to decorate 

First, measure out your paper or fabric so that it will fit your can. If you're using washi tape, just wrap it around your can in the pattern you'd like. I thought paper was the easiest, and you can find some really cute prints!

Once your paper is cut out to the right size, secure it to your can using your hot glue gun.

Next, poke four holes in the top of your can to secure the string.

Tie a piece of string through each hole. I used a little bit of glue to ensure the knots stay put. Make sure you leave enough string to secure to the lamp.

This is how these lamps are supposed to be used, but flip it upside down and you have a hot air balloon! 

Poke 4 holes into the base of the lamp and secure the string.

This is what it will look like when you're done.

Then you can decorate your lamps using whatever you'd like.

You have to get a little creative hanging them up.

I used fishline and wrapped the cords around it, and then used filler to make clouds to cover the cords.

I just love how they turned out! 

And the best thing is they can be customized to any color or theme.

a house divided

^what we have here is beautiful rivalry^

James was born and raised a fan of the University of Utah.

I was born and raised (the right way) a cougar fan.

we both knew this clearly when we married each other.

and i'm completely okay with it!

it keeps football season at our house interesting.

^and sometimes i just like to make him happy^

the house divided wreath was super easy to make!

i just used a styrofoam wreath from hobby lobby, blue and red ribbon, and painted/glittered the wooden letters.

i used straight pins to secure the ribbons to the wreath and used hot glue to secure the letters.

you could also do it in just one color if your house isn't as competitive as ours!

welcome fall

i love decorating our little home for each season or holiday.

fall is the greatest.

if i had hundreds of dollars to spend on seasonal decor, i would spend it in a heartbeat.

unfortunately i don't so i have to thrift my way through the holidays.

but that's okay! because i made some stinkin' cute diy decorations for the fall season, that i think look just as adorable as anything store bought. (correct me if i'm delusional)

is it just me or is that halloween banner the cutest thing you've ever seen?! love it.

and its just not fall without a little leaf garland.

caramel apple pops are a must have at our house.

there's truly nothing more delicious.
